Artist's Comments

Lately I was listening to old (German) Pippi Longstocking story cassettes.
I was a bit depressed at that time and these cassettes brought a lot of good memories back and I felt better.
So I got the idea of drawing myself as Pippi Longstocking.

I only did the outlines with Indian ink, the rest is Photoshop 7.0.
The real background is a shot from a part of my home garden but turned around.

Pippi Langstrømpe she was cald in Norwegian. For me the show have always been Swedish. I saw the cartoon on Toon Disney one day. They had of course dubd it to Norwegian but I had to to turn it over to Swedish.

Great drawing!

A great picture, one of my favorites in the last time :) *fav*
I used to read the "Pippi Langstrumpf" books a lot when I was a little kid and I still like her a lot.

Thank you :) And thanks for :+fav:ing it!
I did not really read books about Pippi Langstrumpf but I watched the first film and I heard the audio cassettes (I still have them). But I read other Astrid Lindgren books like "Die Kinder von der Krachmacher-Strasse". Great stories :)

Süß! Super, wie Du Foto und Zeichnung verbunden hast!!
Diese Geschichten machen eben nicht nur Kinder froh .. ;)

I like the piture. Most try to cute-ify Pippi, so it's nice to see someone who drew Pippi properly as a kid.

Very good picture. I like the colors and her socks.

I remember way back in 1985, this girl I had a crush on in elementary school named Mandy Cuncich (who's probably married by now) was REALLY into the Pippi Longstocking book series. I'd swear that she read about as many of the books that were available in our school library at that time. I barely got halfway through Roald Dahl's "James And The Giant Peach" (I remember losing interest when the peach rolled into Willy Wonka's candy factory).

That crap aside, I REALLY love the picture.

"2010: THE YEAR WE MAKE CONTACT...AND OTHER COLD AND FLU REMEDIES!! :D "

(admittedly, the film itself is NOT as good as 2001: A Space Odyssey, which was made some fifteen years before 2010, but....)

Thank you :)
I think every kid has to know Pippi Longstocking besides the Grimm fairy tales and the christmas story for example.
