Curious Meerkat

It's a painting of a meerkat from the Zoo of Frankfurt/Main (Germany), based on a photo I took.

As you may have noticed this painting isn't that brandnew.
I did this last July and it was laying around after
1. I thought I had to improve this more and
2. Since the first days of August I've had a stressful time with my bigger projects so I kinda put this painting aside.

Now I took time again to look at it and to think about what to do with it.
I decided it's good how it is and now I finally submit this.

One sad thing about this picture is that I don't even know if this meerkat is still alive or dead.
Why? Because about a month ago or so I read about the death of most of the sweet meerkats in the Frankfurt zoo, it seemed to be an accident (they were trapped and buried in their own selfmade cafe).
